Cuchifritos Gallery
In 2001 a group of artists came together to found Cuchifritos Gallery at Essex Market. Because of their unique location in the heart of the Lower East Side, a historically diverse neighborhood, it became part of the founders’ central mission to foster a significant connection between local residents and contemporary art.
The accessibility of Cuchifritos Gallery + Project Space continues today, providing exhibition opportunities to hundreds of independent curators and emerging underrepresented artists.
Through an annual open call, they seek exhibitions, and are particularly interested in exhibits that convey relevance to the local community.
