Cranberry Tea

Serves 4

Ingredients

32 ounces of water
1 cup fresh cranberries
1 lemon
1 cinnamon stick
6 cloves
2 tablespoons honey, plus more to taste

Directions
  1. Place water in a pot or kettle and bring to a boil.

  2. Wash and drain cranberries. Slice each cranberry in half, discarding any soft berries. And place into a large tea kettle or heatproof pitcher. Using the fork, lightly mash some of the berries.

  3. Peel the lemon and add the peels, cinnamon and clove into the tea kettle. Pour boiling water over and steep for 10-15 minutes.

  4. Strain the solids. Pour the tea into four serving cups and stir in desired amounts of honey.


Quick Tips
  • The strained cranberry solids can be eaten to get the maximum benefits of the fruit.

  • Cranberries are a good source of Vitamin C, manganese and are full of antioxidants.

  • The antioxidants found in cranberries may prevent lower inflammation, improve digestion and urinary functions.
