This March, vegan & gluten-free food content creator Remy Park will be stopping by Essex Kitchen to promote her new book SESAME, SOY, SPICE with a talk, cooking demo and signing!
A self-taught cook, Remy was exposed to her parents’ Korean, Japanese, and Taiwanese culture through food as well as French and Brazilian inspired cuisine from her other relatives’ backgrounds. In SESAME, SOY, SPICE, Park offers elegant, easy-to-make plant-based takes on international and Asian-ish dishes, and explores traditional vegan diets within her cultures, including Korean temple food, Japanese Buddhist cuisine, and Taiwanese faux meats.
The book is a love letter to Remy’s family and the meals she grew up with while staying true to her vegan and gluten free lifestyle and exploring the importance of heritage, identity and self-acceptance.
