As a child Gene Davidovich was fascinated by his grandma Zoya’s kitchen, where he watched her prepare dishes based on traditional recipes passed down through generations. After immigrating to New York City and graduating college he began to bake on his own, with the help of Grandma Zoya, and soon he was selling his bagels to various stores in his neighborhood.  

The business gained popularity, and soon Davidovich became a wholesale bakery specializing in handcrafted kettle boiled bagels in all flavors. In 2013 they established their first retail location at Essex Market, where they still stand today.
